From The Editor

Greetings, fellow docuphiles!

We've added several wonderful titles to the DocWorkers e-store, and I want to keep you in the loop on what's new. Also, look in May for a great new feature -
interviews from some of the most intrepid documentarians working today!

Pedro Carvajal's POPaganda: The Art and Crimes of Ron English is a romp through the mind of a brilliant maverick -- the anti-corporate painter, Ron English.  The film spans more than a decade of Ron's New York City billboard hijackings, TV appearances, and best of all, his incredible artwork. A truly inspiring example of full self-expression through art and life.

The Shape of The Future takes a look at the Israeli-Palestinian issues through the eyes of the people affected by the violence. It is the only film on the subject to have played simultaneously in Israel, the territories, and neighboring Arab nations.

Drowned Out is the second DVD in the DocWorkers store from filmmaker Franny Armstrong (the first is the marvelous McLibel). Drowned Out tells the amazing story of Jalsindhi, a village in India that sits in the path of the rising water from the recently completed Narmada Dam. They have seen downstream villagers forced out of their homes and into feeble urban existences on a few bucks from the government, and they refuse to share that fate. They choose to stay, and drown. What follows is an inspiring story of how necessity breeds activism, even in the unlikeliest places.
